Our girl Keri just keeps making waves in the industry! On her official MySpace, she posted that she’s featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution for her music contributions in the industry. Here’s what it says…
“It’s more about the quality of work that you put in, not the quantity of time that you spend doing it. Because I used to burn it at both ends. My first year of college [at Emory] I was operating on no hours of sleep. A zombie. In the studio every night, then come in at 6 in the morning and try to study for an 8 a.m. exam. … Then right there on Freedom Parkway, I flipped my car over. Falling asleep at the wheel. In an interview with MTV.com, Weezy F. Baby, better known as Lil’ Wayne, revealed that rising R&B star Keri Hilson is on the original version of the “Love In This Club Remix” that currently features Lil’ Wayne and the new “Queen of R&B”, Beyonce. Lil’ Wayne said this in the interview:
“I ain’t gonna front, I actually recorded it with Keri Hilson,” Birdman Jr. said. “I was hoping that Usher would keep my little singing part, my little four bars at the end. That’s the best part of my verse, everybody was saying. He kept it. I respect him for that. A lot of singers, sometimes you go to singing on their song, and they know you’re a rapper. They just chop that whole part off. But he kept that. Usher’s a real dude for that. I respect him for that.”
